Barchip
fibre vs Steel mesh
The following pictures and graph form a brief summary of
concrete flooring research undertaken by Dr. Stefan Bernard
in Australia.
The aim of this analysis was to compare the relative performance
of steel mesh vs Barchip Kyodo synthetic fibre in a simulated
concrete floor failure.
The test method involved casting 1200mm (47") diameter
x 125mm (5") thick concrete panels and testing them
on a rubber support to simulate a subgrade soil reaction.
